These two sites belonged to a second-generation car dealership, located on a prominent road, in Tooting.
We approached the owner to see if he would sell, to which we received a positive response. Following extensive negotiations, we entered into an option, with the owner.
These two sites had an adverse planning history, with a planning application for 120 units, in two 5 storey buildings, across the two sites. Our planning team worked up various solutions and held various meetings with Wandsworth Council’s planning department. As a result, we arrived at a carefully designed 4 storey scheme that accorded with the Council’s desired density and respected the ridge, and eaves, heights of the surrounding buildings. A formal detailed planning application, for 88 flats, was prepared, and submitted, to Wandsworth’s planners, for their consideration which was subsequently granted, by the Planning Committee.
